Synopsis

This module aims to equip students with knowledge and skills about the use of technology in business operations. The focus will predominantly be on ICT (Information and Communication Technology). The module covers topics relating to ICT integration within modern business and how to use ICT efficiently and effectively in business operations.

The basics of business re-engineering will also be covered. Emphasis will be on ICTs such as word processing, spreadsheet, database, the internet, the Web, social media, and mobiles.

Workload requirements

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this module is 150 hours typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. The module requires on average three/four hours of scheduled activities per week. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher directed learning, peer directed learning and online engagement.
