    Why study Construction Technology Programme (CTP) ?

    The construction industry offers a wide range of career opportunities. This short learning programme provides an excellent foundation for a career in the built environment. Possible career options and progressions upon completion include:

    • Construction Management
    • Quantity Surveying Practice
    • Management and supervision of construction activities
    • Specialising as a subcontractor in the construction industry
    • Commercial trading such as a material or equipment supplier

    Trade associations have worked in cooperation with CEA in offering this programme in the past, and will be invited again to support/promote this programme. This short learning programme is very popular and attracts national and international participants. It addresses the lack of technical knowledge persons in the property/built environment may have, having entered the property industry/built environment via other routes, not supported by professional built environment education and training.

    MSA Competency based short learning programme

    Who should attend

    This learning opportunity is needed for persons with limited experience in the property industry and particularly valuable for participants who often do not come from a traditional property related background which involves construction technology.

    The purpose of this programme is to enhance the technical knowledge level of people who take responsibility for the erection, maintenance, redevelopment, facilities management and project management of existing buildings and building projects.

    Entry requirements
    • A National Senior Certificate with suitable commercial property industry experience (minimum of three years in the property industry). Recognition of prior learning based on relevant experience in the commercial property industry will also be considered.
    Assessment to determine competence:
    • An open book test on the last of the short learning programme
    • A comprehensive assignment to be submitted within ten week of having attended the programme
