Dr Ludi Koekemoer, B.Comm (UP); B.Comm (Hons) (RAU); Dip MRes & Adv (Unisa); MBA (UP); Ph.D (Rhodes) worked for three large advertising agencies between 1972 and 1986 as a market researcher, strategic planner and account director; the last seven years as shareholder and deputy group MD.
He was a professor of Marketing at the University of Pretoria (1986-1989), chair of the Department of Business Management and professor of Strategic Management at Rand Afrikaans University (now UJ) from 1990-1999 and CEO of AAA School of Advertising from 2000-2015.
Ludi developed and launched the unique MBA at Monash South Africa in 2016. His experience, lecturing, research and consulting include advertising, brand management, strategic planning and new product development. He has published six books on marketing communication and contributed chapters to 12 books on marketing and related topics. He was a visiting professor to Kenan Flagler Business School at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill NC, USA.
He served on the SA Consumer Council for six years, the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) for more than 15 years, represented AAA on the ACA (Association for Communication and Advertising) board and served on many marketing and advertising industry bodies. He has acted as a judge at national and international marketing and advertising awards, and is the chairperson of the Marketing Association’s Professional Development Board.
