Dr Joanah Gadzikwa is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Social and Health Sciences at Monash South Africa. She joined Monash South Africa in 2010 having gained work experience lecturing scientific communication and report writing at the University of KwaZulu-Natal where she was studying towards her Master’s degree. Her teaching interests are in the areas of media studies, new media and cyber cultures, development communication and corporate communication.
Her research interests include identity constructions of migrants in host societies, media representation, interactivity in the new media landscape and new media cyber cultures. She is an active research presenter at The International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) and The South African Communications Association (SACOMM). She has also supervised a number of Honours students to completion and has been actively involved in external marking and moderation of Honours dissertations.
