Gugulethu is a Child and Youth Development lecturer, and clinical social worker who holds a Master’s in Social Science (Mental Health), Honours in Psychology, and Certificate in Community Development obtained at Unisa. She went through a facilitation course and a diploma in accounting and Business studies in 1987 through the University of Swaziland (NISWA).
For 14 years she has been a community practitioner for World Vision International Organisation as programme manager, based in Orlando East, Soweto. She started a private practice in 2009, with a focus on counselling, training, facilitation for university social work students (third and fourth year levels) where she started building her experience in academia.
In 2013 she joined the University of Johannesburg as a facilitator for second year internship classes, and provided supervision for third and fourth year students. She also trains student counsellors at Grace Bible Church, and is involved with local Early Childhood Development centres.
