Bethany Dirr is currently a sessional lecturer at the MSA Foundation Programme having lectured Academic English, Introduction to Media Studies and Technology. She pursued a bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Witswatersrand, and is currently undertaking a Masters degree which is aimed at reconfiguring the Maternal divine through the medium of milk in interactive installation and conceptual manifestation. She has exhibited work at the Museum of African Design and presented published work “Beyond the Pale: Changing Pedagogies of Art History” at the Sounds of Change International Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Bethany has also taken part in internships at the Johannesburg Art Gallery in archival work and restoration and at Stephan Welz and Co the Fine Art and Antique Auction House. It is her keen interest to transmit and apply this creative knowledge as well as the importance of critical enquiry and endeavour towards a pedagogical framework.
