Alain is a statistics and econometrics lecturer with 20 years of experience. His primary interests lie in applied statistics, which means he mostly works with data. Among his interests are the applications of linear and non-linear regression models (and their as Blinder-Oaxaca type decompositions) as well as panel data techniques to Economics.
Alain has a B.Sc (Honours) in Statistics from Institut Supérieur de Statistique (Lubumbashi, DRC), a Postgraduate Diploma in Mathematical Statistics from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, and M.Phil in Economics from the University of Pretoria. He is currently working on his Ph.D in Economics (University of Pretoria) in the field of Applied Microeconometrics.
