International Student Advisor – 2 Year Fixed-Term

The opportunity

Promote the MSA reputation, image and brand and attract high quality students. To ensure school leaver student enrolments and meet the agreed targets for the programs and channels of responsibility.

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Marketing and Promotion

  • Advise the public about Monash South Africa through involvement in formal presentations, tradeshows, and media events outside South Africa in target markets.
  • Service various school accounts in your assigned territories to generate leads, applications and enrolments in target markets in Africa.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with feeder and partner schools and other stakeholders in target markets.
  • Represent the institution by travelling to and liaising with staff and learners’ at targeted high schools to provide campus specific information. Communicate information via large or small classroom sessions, individual appointments, and booth displays.
  • Identify marketing opportunities to attract students to Monash South Africa from target markets in Africa.
  • Contribute to the development of student recruitment and promotional material in target markets in Africa.
  • Key –in and update the CRM
  • Provide activity and progress reports on a regular basis for all activities.

2. Enrolment Function

  • Meeting the goals and objectives of Monash South Africa regarding student recruitment in target markets in Africa:
  •           a) Collection of quality leads
              b) Lead conversion to application
              c) Applicant conversion to enrolment

  • Key –in and update the CRM
  • Provide activity and progress reports on a regular basis.

3. Counselling Function

  • Remain current on academic and administrative policies, procedures, and requirements for all academic programs.
  • To provide counselling to prospective students who inquire either on or off-campus.
  • Ensure high counselling-to-enrolment percentage through consistent counselling and follow ups.
  • Provide advice to students during pre-admission and assist in solving academic and/or financial problems.
  • To provide accurate and sufficient information pertaining to the campus features, academic programs and other Unique Selling Points (USPs) in order to close the sale (to enrol the prospect).
  • Convert quality leads to opportunities, opportunities to applications
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding institutional information and student files.
  • Provide activity and progress reports on a regular basis.

4. Special Events

  • Plan and implement information sessions in target markets in Africa.
  • Participate in events that promote the institution such as trade shows, information evenings, and open days in target markets in Africa.
  • Plan and develop, student recruitment presentations, workshops, partner school events etc. in identified markets in Africa.
  • Present timely accurate information about Monash South Africa academic programs, courses, services, training, and other educational opportunities to the target markets in Africa and appropriate external contracts.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute on-campus activities and tours for groups and individuals visiting the campus.

Key selection criteria:

  • At least a Diploma with three years’ working experience preferably in International student recruitment for tertiary studies.
  • Dynamic and energetic individual, with excellent communication and public speaking skills.
  • Knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Power Point etc.
  • Valid driver’s license and own car.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Self-driven with a strong sales mind.
  • Customer orientated.
  • Good relationship building skills.
  • Ability to practice great work etiquettes for positive culture setting within your team.
  • Believes in positive reinforcement and practice it.
