The student will be placed in an organisation where experience in working with a client can be obtained. The exposure to practice will provide the student with the opportunity to apply theory in practice and to be exposed to the working reality and organisational processes. Compliance to organisational expectations and ethical conduct will be required of the student. A placement coordinator will ensure that sufficient supervision exists. The experiential learning process will be supported during contact with the university.

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this module is 150 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. The module requires on average three/four hours of scheduled activities per week. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher directed learning, peer directed learning and online engagement.
