Entry Requirements

How to apply

Online application

You can apply online through our Online Admission system which will guide you through the application process step-by-step.

Paper application

You can apply offline through a paper-based application process. Download the application form, print it and complete all the necessary fields. We advise that you keep a copy of your application for your own records. Once you have completed the form you need to submit it, along with your supporting documentation, in one of these ways:

Entry requirementsApplications for the Master of Philosophy are lodged with the Monash South Africa Research office directly. Please complete and return the MPhil application form (pdf, 497Kb). POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT SPECIALISING IN CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT SPECIALISING IN HIV/AIDS AND HEALTH AND POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN WATER MANAGEMENT
Entry requirementsApplicants must have successfully completed a relevant undergraduate degree or an NQF level 7 equivalent qualification; and have work experience (on a managerial level for PG Dip (management) qualifications).
How to applyStep 1: Complete and sign the application form and submit it with the following documents:

  • Your CV
  • Original certified copy of ID document or passport
  • Original certified copies of qualification(s)
  • Original certified copies of academic transcripts- please include academic transcripts from all previous years of study, including those that were not successful
  • Declaration of English Language Proficiency (if English was not the language of instruction in previous studies completed)
  • A SAQA evaluation of foreign qualification(s) may be requested for non-South African qualifications

MASTER IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS (MIB)
Entry requirementsApplicants must have completed either:

  • A bachelor’s degree with honours; or
  • An equivalent qualification; or
  • An approved pathway; and
  • Achieved a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60% or an equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) as determined by the Faculty.

Applicants will be considered for selection based on academic records.

  • Original certified copy of ID document or passport
  • Original certified copies of qualification(s)
  • Original certified copies of academic transcripts- please include academic transcripts from all previous years of study, including those that were not successful

MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA)
Entry requirementsApplicants must have completed either:

  • A 3-year bachelor’s degree with honours or an equivalent level 8 qualification, or
  • an approved pathway; or
  • A postgraduate diploma; or
  • A 4-year bachelor’s degree

POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN ACCOUNTING
Entry requirements

1. Applicants meeting the entry requirements

a. First-time applicants to the MSA Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting

  • Applicants who have successfully completed their SAICA-accredited undergraduate degree with 55% or more in all four major 3rd year units in the year immediately preceding the year in which they begin the MSA Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting are offered a place.

b. Applicants who have previously attempted the MSA Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting

  • Applicants who have passed two or more MSA Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting units in the year preceding the repeating year are offered a place in the MSA Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting.
  • Even if an applicant has passed one or more of the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting units previously, they will have to enrol and pass all four units in the same year in order to qualify for SAICA’s ITC.

2. Applications considered for offers

The majority of applicants fall into this category and are considered for an offer for the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting pending available spaces.

a. First-time applicants to the MSA Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting

These are applicants who have completed a SAICA-accredited undergraduate degree but have not met the entry requirements as stipulated in point 1 above. These applicants are considered by the Department of Accountancy Studies based on:

  • The Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting programme capacity
  • Whether the applicant has attempted CTA/Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting before at another accredited institution (generally having attempted CTA before is an advantage)
  • Whether the applicant completed the undergraduate degree in the prescribed time Prior results
  • Year of previous studies
  • Prior work experience relevant to the field of Accounting

b. Applicants who have previously attempted the MSA Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting

These applicants are considered by the Department of Accountancy Studies according to their performance in the MSA PGDip (Accounting), subject to the PGDip (Accounting) programme capacity.

Even if an applicant has passed one or more of the PGDip (Accounting) units previously, they will have to enrol and pass all four units in the same year in order to qualify to write SAICA’s ITC
